Coaches for your Munich concert

Airport to hotel, hotel to the Isarphilharmonie, back after the encore and on to Stuttgart, Salzburg or Vienna the next morning. One contact for every coach on your tour.

For a Munich date we plan coaches with drivers, from minivans to double-deckers, around your rehearsal, concert and onward routing. The Isarphilharmonie, with 1,900 seats, is the main hall for visiting orchestras; the Herkulessaal and the Prinzregententheater host chamber orchestras and choirs. Between November and March at least seven visiting orchestras play the Isarphilharmonie alone, most of them in November and early December. Most tours continue to Stuttgart, Salzburg, Vienna or Frankfurt. We check every tour day against EU driving hours rules (Regulation 561/2006) and send an indicative quote within 2 to 3 business days.

Munich in the 2026/27 season

From the published programmes of the Munich promoters we count at least seven visiting orchestras at the Isarphilharmonie between November and March. That is a sample, not a full count. Munich is rarely a standalone date. These are the routing patterns we see this season:

  • Munich and Stuttgart on consecutive days: around 230 km, a free morning is enough for the transfer
  • Munich and Cologne on consecutive days: around 575 km, the long jump to the north-west
  • Munich between two flights: arrival at the airport, concert, departure to the next city. The coach covers the transfers only
  • Munich and Vienna: the way in or out of an Austrian leg, around 435 km
  • From Upper Austria to Munich: orchestras from Linz come in via Salzburg

A concert day in Munich, example

A typical concert day with a morning rehearsal at the Isarphilharmonie. We agree the drop-off point and access with the venue in advance and put them in the day sheet.

  • 09:15 Depart city centre hotel, 49-seat coach
  • 09:45 Arrive Isarphilharmonie at the agreed drop-off point
  • 10:00 Rehearsal; the coach waits or returns, depending on rehearsal length
  • 13:30 Back to the hotel
  • 18:15 Depart for the hall, plus a minivan for the soloists
  • 22:00 After the encore the coach is at the exit; the driver's rest period starts at the hotel

Onward from Munich: typical legs

Whether one driver is enough depends less on the distance than on what happens before and after. We plan to EU Regulation 561/2006: up to 9 hours driving per day (10 hours twice a week), a 45-minute break after 4.5 hours, 11 hours daily rest (9 hours up to three times a week). Times below are guide values without breaks; the real plan is built on your schedule.

Worked example: Munich tonight, Cologne tomorrow night

Two concerts on consecutive days, around 575 km apart. This routing is in this season's programmes.

  • Day 1, 22:00: concert ends at the Isarphilharmonie, back at the hotel around 22:30. The driver needs at least 9 hours rest, so 07:30 is the earliest departure.
  • Day 2, 07:30: departure. Around 7 hours of driving, with at least 45 minutes break after 4.5 hours. With a second break the coach reaches Cologne around 16:00. Little time is left for a sound check.
  • Day 2, evening: if the same driver also runs the Cologne concert transfers, the duty day reaches around 15 hours and his rest must start by 22:30 at the latest. That only works on reduced rest both nights and with zero margin: one traffic jam on the A3 or one extra encore and the rest period breaks.
  • What we quote instead: a double crew for the long transfer, or a second coach in Cologne for the evening. Whichever is cheaper is in the indicative quote, not in a surcharge afterwards.

Matching the coach to your ensemble

  • 4 to 8 people, quartet, trio, soloist with team: minivan with driver
  • 9 to 25 people, chamber or baroque ensemble: 19- or 29-seat midi coach
  • 26 to 55 people, chamber orchestra or choir: 49- or 57-seat coach
  • Full symphony orchestra: two to three coaches or a double-decker, plus a minivan for the soloists
  • Luggage and instruments travel in the luggage hold. If there is more, we add a trailer

Munich Airport and three halls

Munich Airport is around 40 km north-east of the city. As a guide value we allow 45 to 60 minutes by coach to a city centre hotel, more at rush hour. On arrival days we plan for luggage and a buffer so that an afternoon rehearsal is safe.

The Isarphilharmonie, the Herkulessaal and the Prinzregententheater are in different parts of town. If you play two nights in two halls, the hotel stays the same and only the route to the hall changes. We agree drop-off and access with each venue beforehand.

For long jumps to Hamburg or Berlin we can quote rail plus coach: train for the long distance, coach for the first and last mile. We do not schedule a rail leg on a concert day.

Anywhere in Europe

This page shows our planning around this city. We plan coaches for orchestra tours anywhere in Europe, from a single transfer to a multi-week tour across several countries, with the same driving-hours check for every day. Our focus routes, where we plan most densely, are the North-West with Benelux, the South-East to Vienna and Berlin.

FAQ

How long is the coach transfer from Munich Airport to the Isarphilharmonie?
As a guide value 45 to 60 minutes without traffic, longer at rush hour. On arrival days we allow for luggage and a buffer.
Where does the coach stop at the Isarphilharmonie?
We agree the drop-off point and access with the venue before the tour and put them in the day sheet, so nobody has to search on the day.
Is one driver enough for Munich to Vienna?
On a travel day, usually yes: around 435 km, just over 5.5 hours of driving plus a break. If there is a concert in Vienna that evening, we look at a double crew or a second coach on site.
How quickly do we get a quote for Munich?
An indicative quote within 2 to 3 business days of receiving your tour plan. We confirm the fixed price with vehicles committed once our partners have confirmed.
Do you also run tours outside these routes?
Yes. We plan coaches for orchestra tours anywhere in Europe. The routes on this page are focus routes where we plan most densely, not limits.
