Coaches for your Frankfurt tour date

Frankfurt Airport to the hotel, hotel to the Alte Oper for the rehearsal, Wiesbaden the next evening, then on south or west. One contact for every coach on your routing.

For a Frankfurt date we plan coaches with drivers, from a minivan to a double-decker, around your rehearsal, concert and onward travel. The Alte Oper, with around 2,500 seats in its Großer Saal, is the busiest touring venue between Cologne and Stuttgart: it hosts around 16 to 18 visiting orchestras between November and March. Many routings pair it with the Kurhaus in Wiesbaden, and most continue to Stuttgart, Mannheim, Cologne, Luxembourg or Brussels. We check every day against the EU driving hours rules (Regulation 561/2006) and send an indicative quote within 2 to 3 business days.

Frankfurt in the 2026/27 season

Between November and March the Alte Oper presents around 16 to 18 visiting orchestras in its main hall, plus chamber and period ensembles in the Mozart Saal (around 700 seats). Several of the touring series in Frankfurt and Wiesbaden are run by the same presenter group, so the two cities often appear on the same routing. The patterns we see every season:

  • Frankfurt plus Wiesbaden: the Kurhaus as a second date one or two days either side of the Alte Oper
  • Frankfurt and Stuttgart on consecutive days, in either direction
  • Rhine-Neckar the day before or after: Heidelberg or Mannheim, then Frankfurt
  • North along the Rhine: Frankfurt, then Cologne or Düsseldorf the next day
  • West and south-west: Brussels the night before Frankfurt, or on from Frankfurt to Luxembourg

A concert day in Frankfurt, sample schedule

A typical day at the Alte Oper. We agree the coach stop and access with the venue in advance and put them in the day sheet.

  • 09:30 Depart hotel, 57-seat coach, two coaches for a full symphony orchestra
  • 10:00 Arrive at the Alte Oper, agreed stop
  • 10:30 Rehearsal; the coach returns or waits, depending on length
  • 13:30 Back to the hotel
  • 18:30 Depart for the hall, plus a minivan for soloists and conductor
  • 22:15 After the encore the coach is ready at the agreed exit; the driver's rest starts at the hotel

Onward from Frankfurt: typical legs

Whether one driver is enough depends on more than the distance: it depends on what happens before and after the leg. We plan to Regulation (EC) 561/2006: up to 9 hours driving a day (10 hours twice a week), a 45-minute break after 4.5 hours, 11 hours daily rest (9 hours up to three times a week). Times are guide values without breaks; we work out the real plan with your schedule.

Driving hours worked through: Brussels one night, Frankfurt the next

Two concerts on consecutive days, 399 km apart. The pattern is in this winter's schedules.

  • Day 1, 22:15: concert ends in Brussels, back at the hotel around 22:45. The driver now needs at least 9 hours rest, and that is already the reduced form.
  • Day 2, 07:45: earliest departure. Around 5 hours driving with a 45-minute break after 4.5 hours puts the coach in Frankfurt around 13:30, more likely 14:00 with traffic. An afternoon sound check works.
  • Day 2, evening: hotel to hall and back, finishing around 22:45. Driving time is around 5.5 hours, which is fine. The duty day, though, is 15 hours, exactly the limit after a reduced rest. It only works with no margin at all: one jam on the motorway or one more encore and the rest period breaks.
  • What we quote: a second driver for the transfer leg, or a second coach in Frankfurt for the evening. Whichever is cheaper is in the indicative quote, not on a surprise invoice.

Matching the coach to the line-up

  • 4 to 8 people, quartet, trio, soloist with team: minivan with driver
  • 9 to 25 people, chamber or period ensemble: 19 or 29-seat coach
  • 26 to 55 people, chamber orchestra or choir: 49 or 57-seat coach
  • Full symphony orchestra: two to three coaches or a double-decker, plus a minivan for soloists
  • Luggage and instruments travel in the luggage hold. If there is more, we add a trailer

One hotel in Frankfurt, several halls in the region

Wiesbaden is around 40 minutes away by coach, Kronberg, Bad Homburg and Königstein under 30 minutes, Mannheim and Heidelberg about an hour. With two or three dates in the region, a single base in Frankfurt saves hotel moves: one coach, one hotel, a different hall each night.

Frankfurt Airport is the arrival and departure point for many tours. On arrival days we plan luggage and instruments into the pick-up and time the first run so there is room to settle after the flight. For long hops to Hamburg or Berlin we can price rail plus coach: train for the long leg, coach for the first and last mile. We do not put a rail leg on a show day.

Anywhere in Europe

This page shows our planning around this city. We plan coaches for orchestra tours anywhere in Europe, from a single transfer to a multi-week tour across several countries, with the same driving-hours check for every day. Our focus routes, where we plan most densely, are the North-West with Benelux, the South-East to Vienna and Berlin.

FAQ

Can one coach cover Frankfurt and Wiesbaden on the same tour?
Usually yes. The distance is short, so the coach can stay with you at the Frankfurt hotel and run out to Wiesbaden and back on the night. No hotel move needed.
Where does the coach stop at the Alte Oper?
We agree stop and access with the venue before the tour and put them in the day sheet, so nobody is searching on the day.
Is one driver enough from Brussels to Frankfurt?
On a travel day, yes, with a break. If there is a Frankfurt concert the same evening, the duty day gets so long that we plan a second driver or a second coach for the evening.
How quickly do we get a quote?
An indicative quote within 2 to 3 business days of receiving your routing. The fixed price with confirmed vehicles follows once our partners have confirmed.
Do you also run tours outside these routes?
Yes. We plan coaches for orchestra tours anywhere in Europe. The routes on this page are focus routes where we plan most densely, not limits.
