Coaches for your Stuttgart tour date

Airport to hotel, hotel to the Beethovensaal for rehearsal, on to Munich or Frankfurt next morning. For a Baden-Baden residency, the daily run between hotel and Festspielhaus. One contact for every coach on your routing.

For a Stuttgart date we plan coaches with drivers, from a minivan to a double-decker, around rehearsal, concert and onward travel. The Beethovensaal at the Liederhalle, around 2,000 seats, presents around ten visiting orchestras between November and March. Stuttgart is the natural stop between Frankfurt and Munich, often on consecutive days. Then there is Baden-Baden: the Festspielhaus, around 2,500 seats, books orchestras for multi-day residencies, which means daily transfers rather than travel legs. We check every day against Regulation 561/2006 and send an indicative quote within 2 to 3 business days.

Stuttgart in the 2026/27 season

The Beethovensaal hosts around ten visiting orchestras this winter, with chamber orchestras in the Mozart-Saal. The Festspielhaus Baden-Baden has two festivals in the window: the winter festival from 11 to 20 December 2026 and the Easter festival from 20 to 29 March 2027. In winter Ludwigsburg is a chamber orchestra stop; its palace festival follows in summer. The patterns we see:

  • Frankfurt and Stuttgart on consecutive days, several times this winter
  • Munich and Stuttgart back to back, in either direction
  • A long leg from Vienna or Linz to Stuttgart, typical of youth and university orchestras on European tours
  • A Baden-Baden residency: several concerts at one venue, hotel to Festspielhaus and back every day
  • Stuttgart as the starting point for regional chamber orchestras heading to Linz or Vienna

A concert day in Stuttgart, sample schedule

A typical day at the Liederhalle. We agree the coach stop and access with the venue in advance and put them in the day sheet.

  • 09:00 Depart hotel, 57-seat coach, two coaches for a full symphony orchestra
  • 09:30 Arrive at the Liederhalle, agreed stop
  • 10:00 Rehearsal; the coach returns or waits, depending on length
  • 13:30 Back to the hotel
  • 18:30 Depart for the hall, plus a minivan for soloists
  • 22:15 After the encore the coach is ready; the driver's rest starts at the hotel

Onward from Stuttgart: typical legs

Whether one driver is enough depends on more than the distance. We plan to Regulation (EC) 561/2006: up to 9 hours driving a day (10 hours twice a week), a 45-minute break after 4.5 hours, 11 hours daily rest (9 hours up to three times a week). Distances are rounded, times are guide values without breaks; we work out the real plan with your schedule.

Driving hours worked through: Vienna to Stuttgart in one day

Around 680 km and around 8.5 hours at the wheel. The leg is on a European tour routing this season and is the longest we regularly see in this corridor.

  • Travel day, one driver: depart Vienna 08:00, 45-minute break after 4.5 hours, at the Stuttgart hotel around 17:15. That is under the 9-hour daily limit, but with no margin: one jam around Munich and the driver needs one of the two 10-hour extensions allowed per week. No dinner runs that evening.
  • Concert on arrival day, one driver: not possible. The transfers to the hall and back take the driver past 9 hours of driving and past a 15-hour duty day. It would only work by breaking the rules twice, and we do not plan that.
  • What we quote, depending on the routing: two drivers on board, an overnight stop in Munich (around 435 km from Vienna, then around 230 km to Stuttgart), or a second coach in Stuttgart for the evening. Whichever is cheaper is in the indicative quote, not on a surprise invoice.
  • On a very tight schedule we also price rail plus coach: the group by train, the coach ahead with luggage and instruments, a local coach from the station.

Matching the coach to the line-up

  • 4 to 8 people, quartet, trio, soloist with team: minivan with driver
  • 9 to 25 people, chamber or period ensemble: 19 or 29-seat coach
  • 26 to 55 people, chamber orchestra or choir: 49 or 57-seat coach
  • Full symphony orchestra or youth orchestra with staff: two to three coaches or a double-decker, plus a minivan for soloists
  • Luggage and instruments travel in the luggage hold. If there is more, we add a trailer

Baden-Baden: a residency, not a travel leg

On a Festspielhaus residency the orchestra stays several days and plays several programmes. What it needs is not a transfer coach but reliable daily runs: hotel, rehearsal, hotel, concert, hotel. We roster drivers so the rest periods hold even after late performances, and add a minivan for soloists and management.

Baden-Baden has an ICE stop; the nearest airport is Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden, with Stuttgart or Frankfurt for long-haul arrivals. From a Stuttgart hotel the hall is around 1.5 hours by coach, so for several nights we plan a hotel close to the venue. The Liederhalle and Ludwigsburg are both under 40 minutes from a Stuttgart hotel.

Anywhere in Europe

This page shows our planning around this city. We plan coaches for orchestra tours anywhere in Europe, from a single transfer to a multi-week tour across several countries, with the same driving-hours check for every day. Our focus routes, where we plan most densely, are the North-West with Benelux, the South-East to Vienna and Berlin.

FAQ

Is one driver enough from Frankfurt to Stuttgart on a show day?
Usually yes. Around 2.5 hours of driving leaves room for rehearsal, concert and transfers. What matters is when the Frankfurt concert ends the night before.
Where does the coach stop at the Liederhalle or the Festspielhaus?
We agree stop and access with the venue before the tour and put them in the day sheet, so nobody is searching on the day.
Can a coach do Vienna to Stuttgart in a day?
On a travel day with one driver, yes, but only just. With a concert on arrival night we plan two drivers, an overnight stop in Munich or a second coach in Stuttgart.
How quickly do we get a quote?
An indicative quote within 2 to 3 business days of receiving your routing. The fixed price with confirmed vehicles follows once our partners have confirmed.
Do you also run tours outside these routes?
Yes. We plan coaches for orchestra tours anywhere in Europe. The routes on this page are focus routes where we plan most densely, not limits.
